Description
The is an illustration of the famous Candy Cane Lane in Chicago's Schorsch Village neighborhood in 1959. The neighborhood was famous for its Christmas holiday displays in the 1950s and 1960s. Each block had a theme. Here we see Candy Cane Lane. Each house has a big illuminated Candy Cane. Some of the other streets were Bell Lane, Santa Claus Lane, Candle Lane, and Reindeer Lane. Cars would pack the street in the evenings to gaze at the displays. So much fun! This art was referenced from a photo taken in 1959, photographer unknown.
