Chicago, Montrose Avenue over the Kennedy Expressway. A woman has just gotten off the bus to take the rapid transit, on a snowy evening when the snow has just started coming down heavy.

I sold my first painting, a watercolor, in 1978. Today my art typically combines impressionistic expression with a lot of photorealism. I believe it is exciting when colorful, impressionistic artwork has some areas of near perfect photographic accuracy. I have been fascinated by impressionistic painting from the first time I saw an excitingly realistic yet "loose" painting of a rainy Paris evening at the turn of the century on the wall of my eye doctor's office in downtown Chicago.
